Multistage Centrifugal Blowers (TXCF)

A multistage centrifugal blower is the turbo route to rough vacuum: no seal liquid, no sliding contact inside, and specific power well below a liquid ring pump on the same duty. Paper mills replacing liquid ring pumps on the wire and press sections do it for exactly that reason — the vacuum is shallow, the volume is huge, and electricity is the dominant cost.

Where the gas is dirty, wet enough to condense, or the duty needs deeper vacuum than about -30 kPa.G, a liquid ring machine remains the right answer. Where it is clean air at shallow vacuum and running hours are long, the blower usually wins. Send the required flow and inlet vacuum and we will say plainly which of the two suits the duty.
