What it does inside the pump

A repair kit bundles the parts an overhaul consumes into one order line: mechanical seal or packing set, shaft sleeve, bearings, gasket set and O-rings. The point is not a discount — it is that a partial overhaul is what causes repeat failures, because new packing on an old sleeve, or a new seal with old bearings, fails again within weeks.

How it fails, and what you see first

The common mistake with kits is buying one without first measuring the impeller clearance and the port plate or cone face. A kit restores sealing, not performance. If ultimate vacuum has degraded, the cause is nearly always clearance — the port plate, the cone position, or a worn impeller — and no kit will fix that.

What to send us so the part is right

Model, serial, and whether the shaft is packed or has a mechanical seal (kits differ). Tell us how long the machine has run since the last overhaul and what the current ultimate vacuum is. If vacuum has degraded, ask us to quote the port plate or cone as well, and we will tell you what to measure first.
